In recent years, compliance with evolving federal and state laws, rules and regulations, particularly the Affordable Care Act, has become increasing challenging. Our team monitors federal and local law activities, proposals, and changes impacting employee benefits and our clients. We provide timely updates and briefs to educate our clients, and we enjoy regular discussions with them about the impact of pending or proposed legislation. It is our goal that upon final passage, law changes are not a surprise to our clients.
HIPAA and ACA compliance is a core tenet of our organization and all employees are trained, at least annually, on compliance. Our Account Executives assist in various compliance activities.
- Review current plan documents/benefits booklets for compliance
- Provide legislative updates on topics that impact your benefits program and prepare templates for required annual employer notices
- Conduct quarterly client webinars on Health Care Reform compliance from the law firm of Miller Johnson, who Brown & Brown contracts with nationally to assist our clients with regulatory matters
- Provide access to HR Workplace Services, which is a dedicated team of HR professionals available via phone or email to provide guidance on HR issues and regulatory compliance on benefit topics such as Health Care Reform, COBRA, HIPAA, Disability, FMLA, Medicare Part D, employee handbook review, etc.
